Original Soundtrack - Step Across The Border $18.86 Orignal score composed by Fred Frith.Although this is technically the soundtrack to a film of the same name by Nicolas Humbert and Werner Penzel, Step Across the Border actually serves as an excellent overview of Fred Frith`s groundbreaking work as a soloist, bandleader, and collaborator. There`s an example of his "guitars on the table" approach ("Romanisches Cafe"), and a couple of excellent duos with tape manipulation whiz Bob Ostertag ("Voice of America, Pt. 3," from the lost and lamented Voice of America album they made for the defunct Metalanguage label). There are also scraps of material from his work with Skeleton Crew as well as numerous other well-chosen miniatures that vary from tuneful and charming to stark and forbidding. Perhaps the best thing this album accomplishes is that it puts some of the material from the astounding (but, sadly, long out of print) album of avant-garde power trio compositions and improvisations Frith recorded with Bill Laswell and Fred Maher under the name Massacre back into circulation: the very fine "Legs" is included here, as is a previously unreleased live track from 1983. Ceylon black tea, as "true", the teas come from the tea plant called Camellia sinensis. But what tea sets black, apart from its cousins is the way it is processed.
Where green tea is steamed, but never rusts, white and oolong teas are only partially oxidised, black tea undergoes a full oxidation. After collecting the leaves of the tea plant are withered, rolled, fermented by a number of hours before that black tea is finally dried and packaged in different shapes and sizes.
This treatment method is actually only the strongest and more flavorful taste of Ceylon black tea. The shape of Ceylon black tea is packed is another reason why the taste is more durable, making them excellent products for export and shipping.
There many varieties of black tea. The main difference is in the places or regions are grown tea plants. Like wine regions in France, Australia and California, black tea come from a region that has slightly different characteristics of black tea cultivated in other regions. Because of this, black teas are often called the name of their growing region in order to make it easier to identify them by association.
An important type of tea is back Ceylon Black Tea, which grows in an island of the same name, in Sri Lanka, where the harsh climate and physical nature approximation of the field, play an important role in its flavor.
Before Ceylon was once a tea-growing region, was first a region coffee. Coffee plantation in Sri Lanka began around 1800, almost three centuries after the Portuguese first landed in search of spices. In 1837, Sri Lanka recorded a history of 4,000 hectares of coffee on the island of Ceylon alone, prompting the coffee trade and export in the then British colony. However, almost forty years later, the coffee plantation in Sri Lanka suffered a huge setback from which they never were able to recover.
Se a early 1865, when Ceylon coffee planters observed a fungus causing leaf contained sheet die and leave - the dreaded vastatrix Hemileia or "devastating Emily. For a time, growers planted more rapidly to overcome, but without success. In 1867, settlers began to look into the tea and planted in the fields, instead of at the trials. The change was dramatic, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, himself, wrote in his De Profundis:
"Those were the days actual coffee plantation in Ceylon, before a season and a rot fungus led to a whole community through years of despair one of the biggest commercial successes emerge and wit always won. It is often not what men have the heart when it has dried its only major industry that rise in a few years another very rich to take its place, and the tea fields of Ceylon are as true a monument to courage as the Lion of Waterloo.
The first black Ceylon tea is produced in the 1860s was literally rolled by hand or arm, in the gallery floors bungalow, or in the tables and then fired over charcoal fires. The resulting black Ceylon tea was a fruity, full-bodied beverage with a slight smoky flavor.
Today, black tea leaves from Ceylon are processed using development machines, but very few are still made the old way.
