The sound from this speaker is great, especially for the price. It's just what we needed. Our LCD TV has all of its speakers in the back so after the sound hits the wall it's lost a lot of its effect.
The big knock on this unit is the tinker-toy remote. It isn't much larger than the battery that powers it and in fact looks like the remote control for a video camera--tiny buttons covered with thin mylar that is already showing signs of wear with less than a months use. The infra-red light is so small there is no width to the beam thus no margin for error. Even pointing it directly at the sensor on the speaker does not guarantee it will perform the function you want. Also, there is NO on-off button on the remote, you have to use a switch mounted behind the speaker that is too close to the mode buttons. Not handy, especially if the unit is wall mounted. |

I read reviews on this where it was mentioned the remote was `small' and `cheap.' However, that wasn't an issue for me, because I have a few ipod docks that have similar looking remotes, and work just fine. I was also hoping to just program the soundbar into my universal remote, which didn't happen, because this maker (Envision or Noah) is not in the product lookup for the remote. You can't do a manual search on a universal remote, since that usually entails hitting the power button, to see if the device turns off. Unfortunately, you cannot turn off this device via remote, so that doesn't work.
Anyway.... I didn't care about the remote's size or apparent cheap quality, but the infrared sensor distance is bad. You have to be very close to the device for the remote to work. This was a problem as I couldn't adjust the volume from the couch. Unfortunately, due to this one thing, I had to return the item. The speaker system sounded excellent, so if Noah would have only made the remote better, I think they would have had a lot more satisfied customers. Hopefully their newer (more expensive) soundbars have much better remotes.
I ended up ordering the Vizio soundbar, and a separate subwoofer to connect to it (the Envision has a subwoofer in it) just so I could use my one remote for all of my devices (my tv is vizio, my bluray is vizio, and the remote is programmed to work with my tivo). I am hoping to have as good of sound quality as the Envision/Noah, as it cost me about twice as much.

| i am not satisfied. this product is made in Red ...; the instructions for the set-up are bad. it is a large an obtrusive theatre system. caveat emptor. |
